Confronted with damp clothes during the colder months, many are seeking innovative indoor drying solutions with limited space and no tumble dryers at hand. Dunelm offers a practical, "low energy" alternative - a heated airer.
The £40 Heated Airer with Wings promises to dry laundry quicker than conventional methods whilst using minimal electricity. It's winged design means you can expand it to fit more clothes but then, when you're done, it can be easily folded away for better storage.
The product has gained hundreds of customer reviews. Satisfied buyers were quick to share how this product was worth the investment as one said: "Very useful product. Works well and much better than tumble dryer."
Meanwhile, another added: "Pleased with this. A great price and coupled with a dehumidifier means I can easily get clothes dried." A third wrote that this was a "truly amazing piece of laundry drying kit", reports the Mirror.
Others found merit in the airer's additional perks, with a comment pointing out: "Brilliant airer, it even warms the room as well as drying clothes efficiently. A great buy! Highly recommend!"

In the product description, Dunelm stated: "This airer is designed to work seamlessly with the X Wing Heated Airer Cover [worth £16], offering a practical solution for quicker drying. When used together, the heated airer cover creates a warm, enclosed space that speeds up moisture evaporation, ensuring your laundry dries faster and more effectively."
Despite the praise, some users flagged up some issues. One Dunelm shopper said: "Flimsy and only dries clothes that are touching the airer." Another reported: "Takes a long time to dry clothes, and you have to keep moving clothes about!"
Others found the unit was "not sturdy enough" once loaded up with wet clothing. A third person claimed it was "very fiddly to put up and down" too.
The Easylife Electric Clothes Drying Rack, available on Amazon for £49.99, claims to operate using "just 7p" of electricity per hour, making it another cost-effective option for those looking to cut their energy bills. One customer described it as "sturdy" and capable of handling a good amount of clothes that dried "really quickly".
However, another claimed it was "a waste of money" as it "took hours" to dry their clothes. Another alternative comes from Argos, with the £60 Minky Wing 12m Heated Clothes Airer.
This product includes a cover which some reviewers said significantly sped up the drying process, with one stating: "I wish I bought this sooner". However, one unhappy customer complained: "You have to constantly re-lay the clothes in different ways so that they can dry with the heat from the rails and even with the cover."
