The eagerly-awaited movie adaptation on hit musical Wicked will be coming to cinemas later this month - and film fans are in for a series of treats at the cinema to coincide with the release.

The movie, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, will be released on November 22 with tickets already on sale at cinemas across the UK. But, those looking for a bit more magic with their screenings can delve into a world of special cup holders, limited-edition drinks, and even an exclusive LEGO set at certain cinemas.

VUE, which has five Greater Manchester locations in Altrincham, Printworks, Quayside, Bury and Bolton, is going all out on all things Wicked and will be hosting a special screening at 3.30pm on Saturday, November 23 where guests are encouraged to dress up in outfits or accessories that pay homage to the main character’s colours of pink and green.

Those attending the special screenings will be able to get their hands on a limited LEGO piece which features a green potion bottle and pink rose - representing main witches Elphaba and Glinda. The LEGO piece will only be available at VUE for the special 'Pink and Green' screening on the 23rd so is expected to be a big hit with collectors.

To coincide with the release, there will also be two exclusive Tango Ice Blasts available to enjoy - available in new Defying Raspberry and Cherry Goodness flavours. Across select cinemas, there will also be a series of merch cups for film fans to stock up on.

Adapted from the 1995 novel from Gregory Maguire, Wicked has become a cultural phenomenon since being adapted into a musical in 2003. Telling the story of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, the musical went on to win multiple Tony Awards and has toured the world. The musical will be coming to Manchester's Palace Theatre this December.

Ahead of the release of Wicked, VUE cinemas will also be bringing the fairy tale world back to where it all began on the big screen with a limited run of screenings of 1939 cinematic classic The Wizard of Oz from November 15.
