A ‘covert’ takeover will be held in a mystery location in Greater Manchester featuring a night of music, art and ‘underground party vibes’.

Taking place in Stretford town centre at the end of November, pop-up bar Rainy Heart will be hosting a special night featuring big electronic records and a ‘top-drawer’ sound system.

The ‘Late Night Happening’ event will also feature the creation of a new sculpture from artist Zayn Rahman, which is set to be suspended in the air of the venue. There will also be drinks from the likes of Cloudwater Brewery during the after-hours session.

Founded by DJ and NTS Radio host Ruf Dug and pop-up bar specialist Dan Hope, Rainy Heart has garnered a reputation for its listening bars, which have featured the likes of Mr Scruff, Bradley Zero, Luke Una, and Rhythm Section in the past.

The November 30 event will, as is Rainy Heart tradition, keep key details under wraps until the day itself - only revealing the line-up during the event, and afterwards on social media. Its undisclosed location, set to be within Stretford Mall, will also be given to ticket holders ahead of proceedings.

Speaking about the event, Ruf Dug tells the Manchester Evening News: “When I first started out, me and my mates used to break into disused spots and put on parties and hope the police wouldn't show up until it was too late.

“20 years later, I've built enough of a reputation that I can swap the bolt cutters for a set of keys with the landlord's permission, and we tell the police all about it before we even start. I don't know if this is quite a poacher-turned-gamekeeper situation but I find a sweet symmetry to it all.”
