Paddy McGuinness broke down in tears after receiving a ‘significant’ update on his Children in Need challenge.
The Bolton TV presenter is currently embarking on an ambitious Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge, which will see him attempt to cycle 300 miles from Wrexham AFC to Glasgow on a Raleigh Chopper.
Earlier this week, Paddy revealed he sought assistance ahead of undergoing the challenge - which he is set to complete on Friday - from Olympic superstar Sir Chris Hoy who put him through his paces with a brutal training regime.

During Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show this morning (November 13), Paddy became emotional after hearing his challenge had now raked in more than £1m in donations.
After Zoe revealed that £1,000,277 had been raised, Paddy broke down into tears whilst taking a breather on the third day of the endurance challenge in the Cumbrian hills.

With Vernon Kay declaring it a ‘significant signpost’, Paddy struggled to compose himself. “Thank you so much, thank you so much everyone,” she said through tears. “That’s amazing, that’s absolutely amazing.”
“Oh god, I can’t believe we’ve got to a million, I can’t believe it,” he added before shouting to the people near him: “We’re over a million pounds everyone!”
A video clip of the interaction has since been shared on social media, with people adding their support for the star’s on-going attempts for the Children in Need charity. One person said: “@mcguinness.paddy you are doing fantastic and I've just donated. Keep smashing it mucker you have the support of the country behind you.”

Another said: “Absolutely incredible Paddy. I've cried with you! Keep going. I've sponsored you today! Lots of love.” One also commented: “Absolutely amazing! I'm crying too!” One other added: “You are smashing this Pads. Just keep going. We’re literally willing you up those hills with as much positive thought as we can.”
Paddy started in Kendal this morning for what will be the day with the earliest start and latest finish throughout the entire challenge, taking in more than 66 miles over 12 hours today alone.
He is set to reach the England Scotland border at Gretna Green later on today, and will finish up tonight in Ecclefechan and will cross the 200 mile mark. Speaking to Zoe about the reaction from people, he said: “I’m completely broken, dejected and finished today, and it’s the happiest I’ve ever been! And I really mean that because people power is the best tonic ever.”
